"On the 19th of April 2009 the big Cold Turkey team were out in force with their new Cold Turkey kits riding the North Cornwall Tor. Distances, 100 miles with 10,000 feet of climbing.
The North Cornwall Tor is recognised by many as the toughest cyclosportive - full stop! And the team made it to the finish line in one piece. Well done boys. Three members of The Big Cold Turkey team (Marksteen Adamson, Phil Gomm and Joe Francis) used the event as training for the main big event coming up this summer when they tackle the almighty Marmot Challenge over 3 Alps to raise money for the big Cold Turkey Foundation. “The idea is that instead of running 42 kilometres, you give up a bad habit or addiction for 42 days. The Big Cold Turkey, meanwhile, sends the money you’ve raised from selling the packs to groups who help youths at risk from drugs and alcohol. And we’re all happier, and just that bit healthier, for it.”
“Gizmodo is here to help. We've found this nifty little kit- The Big Cold Turkey - that, unlike the patch, or gum, or cutting back, you can track your progress.”
At the Big Cold Turkey we have set up our own foundation...
We’ll donate 10% of our profits to support the young people at risk from drug and alcohol related abuse.

Staying on the wagon
Giving up is a new start. So try some other new stuff at the same time. Go to some new places. Meet some new people. Take your kite to the park. Start a new hobby. Even a new cycle route might do the trick. And if you're really struggling, join a support group.
